The Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma Foundation (JCMPF), the Philippine Tuberculosis Society Inc (PTSI) and the Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma Senior High School (JCMPSHS) and the St. Cecilia Medical and Wellness Group entered a partnership to conduct a chest x-ray screening for the senior high school students, academic and non-academic personnel and two (2) of their adult dependents on Nov 22 – 25, 2022 at the JCMPSHS compound.  The Chest X-ray Screening as one activity to celebrate the birthday of Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma.

JCMPF would like to ensure that the senior high school students, academic and non-academic personnel and two adult dependents are free from tuberculosis and are fit to study and work.

For this activity, our target population was supposed to be 859 participants (461 grade 11 students, 296 grade 12 students, 26 academic personnel, 7 non-academic personnel, 69 dependents).  But only 508 where actually screened (60%)

The partners established a referral system from the school to the Payatas Health Center TB DOTS and/or PTSI- Quezon Institute for further testing (e.g. Gene Xpert), consultation, and TB treatment for those who were found positive in the X-ray screening.  The JCMPSHS and Payatas B Health Center continues to monitor patients until they complete the 6-month treatment.
