The Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma Foundation (JCMPF) participated in the Development Marketplace of the Young Leaders for Good Governance (YLGG) Fellowship Program, organized by the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation, Inc. (JMRF), on January 30, 2026, at B Hotel, Quezon City.
The Development Marketplace convened incumbent local government officials from across the Philippines, alongside civil society organizations and development partners committed to promoting ethical leadership, accountable governance, and people empowerment. The event provided a venue for organizations to present programs and initiatives that local governments may adopt, support, or replicate in their respective localities.
JCMPF’s participation reflects its continuing commitment to good governance, access to justice, and the protection of children’s rights. Anchored on the legacy of Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma, the Foundation works to strengthen democratic institutions and promote justice systems that are fair, accessible, and responsive—particularly to children and other vulnerable sectors.
One of the Foundation’s key initiatives is the Kids and Teens Court Awareness Program (KTCAP), a child-centered court preparation program for child victims and witnesses of abuse, exploitation, and trafficking. Through psycho-legal education and close collaboration with the judiciary, social workers, schools, and civil society partners, KTCAP helps children understand court processes, manage anxiety, and participate meaningfully in judicial proceedings.
Through its engagement in the JMRF Development Marketplace, the Justice Palma Foundation sought to engage local government leaders in dialogue and partnership, and to share programs that may be institutionalized at the local level. The Foundation views this participation as an important step toward integrating child-sensitive justice mechanisms and legal education into local governance and child protection frameworks.
The participation of JCMPF in this national gathering affirms its belief that good governance and access to justice are inseparable, and that the protection of children’s rights and welfare is a shared responsibility of institutions and leaders.
