San Juan City, November 27, 2024, 1:00 PM – Hon. Judge Mary Catherine Noblejas-Garcia warmly welcomed representatives from the Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma Foundation (JCMPF), together with children, social workers, house parents, and guardians from Children International, Heart of Mary Villa NCR, and Bukid Kabataan Center Cavite.
“The court wants each child witness to feel that they matter—to find strength, to begin again. Don’t be afraid to speak. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Every question, every story, and every feeling is important and deserves to be heard. We are here to teach, to listen, and to show compassion. Judge Noblejas-Garcia also gave a brief overview of the Family Court’s role under Republic Act No. 8369, which established family courts in San Juan, Metro Manila. These courts handle:

One highlight was the “My Gratitude Walk” activity, where children were guided to express thanks through simple reflection statements such as:
This exercise encouraged children to focus on positivity in their lives—even in the midst of difficult experiences. Alysha, age 6, bravely shared her answers with the help of court staff, demonstrating resilience and hope.
Children from Heart of Mary Villa delivered a moving dance performance set to “Si Juana Ako!”—a tribute to the struggles and strength of women. The performance served as a reminder of courage in the face of fear and self-doubt.
